Startups in Saudi Arabia play a crucial role in creating jobs, says CEO of Misk Foundation Badr Al Badr

Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed bin Salman Foundation (Misk Foundation) focuses on empowering the youth as startups play a crucial role in creating jobs in the Kingdom, according to CEO Badr Al Badr.

In a panel session at the World Economic Forum (WEF) Special Meeting, Al Badr revealed that Misk Foundation already achieved its set goal of creating 10,000 jobs through the startups that the foundation supports.

He noted that the foundation focuses on gearing up the economic impact on youth through reskilling, creating jobs in new technological opportunities, entrepreneurship, and leadership, making sure that new leadership understands the technological impacts on the ongoing changes in the job market.

Al Badr affirmed that cooperating with the non-profit sector is the only way to address the challenges that the job market witnesses.

Furthermore, the CEO clarified that employment in the non-profit sector was boosted five times within the past five years.

The WEF Special Meeting on Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development takes place in Riyadh on 28 and 29 April, gathering more than 1,000 world leaders from all sectors and industries.

It aims to contribute to a more stable and inclusive economic future by leveraging global cooperation for economic development, promoting a global energy transition that underpins sustainable development, and advancing technological advancement.
