Riyadh Air signs deal with GE Aerospace for flight optimization

Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Riyadh Air announced closing a five-year deal with GE Aerospace to integrate its advanced flight operations software with aims to enhance the airline’s performance through data-driven analytics, focusing on optimizing fuel consumption and improving safety protocols.

The collaboration introduces GE Aerospace’s Fuel Insight software, which is designed to provide Riyadh Air with comprehensive tools for analyzing and managing fuel use, according to a recent press release.

Peter Bellew, Chief Operating Officer of Riyadh Air commented: “At Riyadh Air sustainability and efficiency sit at the core of our operations. Our collaboration with GE Aerospace represents a significant advancement in adopting state-of-the-art technology to enhance safety protocols, streamline fuel usage, and uphold our dedication to operational excellence as we are currently preparing for flight trials and working towards obtaining AOC certification starting September 2024”.

Andrew Coleman, General Manager, GE Aerospace, Software further said: “At GE Aerospace, we’re committed to leading a digital transformation in aviation, finding better solutions, and creating efficiencies that solve our industry’s greatest pain points”.

This technology will play a critical role in enhancing the airline’s sustainability efforts by reducing carbon emissions and supporting efficient fuel management.

The partnership reflects Riyadh Air’s commitment to leading the aviation industry in environmental responsibility. By leveraging the capabilities of GE Aerospace’s software, the airline seeks to not only optimize its operational efficiency but also set new standards for sustainable aviation practices.

GE Aerospace’s Fuel Insight software employs sophisticated algorithms and data analytics to offer actionable insights on fuel consumption patterns. This allows airlines to make informed decisions that can significantly lower operational costs and improve overall performance.

Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Energy signed a Power Supply and Implementation Agreement with Expo 2030 Riyadh Company, wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), to deliver the power infrastructure required across the Expo 2030 Riyadh site.The agreement was signed by Khalid AlGhamdi, Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Energy, and Talal Al-Marri, Chief Executive Officer of Expo 2030 Riyadh, according to the official statement,The deal aims to establish the electrical infrastructure required to meet the power demands of Expo 2030 Riyadh. This includes the construction of a bulk supply point, three primary substations, and all associated transmission and distribution infrastructure.Leading Saudi companies, including Alfanar, Haif Company, Trading and Development Partnership, and Al-Babtain Power & Telecom Company, will support the execution of these worksAlGhamdi highlighted that the agreement reflects the critical role of Saudi Energy in supporting major national projects by developing a reliable and highly efficient power infrastructure.He emphasized that Saudi Energy will deploy its capabilities and expertise to execute Expo 2030 Riyadh’s electric supply requirements to the highest standards of quality and operational performance, supporting the readiness of this global event and aligning with the Kingdom’s development goals.For his part, Al-Marri said: “The agreement marks another important milestone, reflecting the accelerated progress across the various workstreams underway on site and reinforcing its readiness in line with the established delivery schedule.”He noted that the partnership with leading Saudi national companies reflects confidence in local capabilities and expertise, and their ability to deliver projects of this scale and ambition in line with the highest technical and operational standards. Moreover, the agreement marks a significant step toward securing the critical utility requirements of Expo 2030 Riyadh and enabling the timely development and successful opening of the event.
