
Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Coffee Company, a wholly-owned PIF subsidiary, signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Research and Development Center for Sustainable Agriculture (Estidamah) aiming to support the coffee sector in the Kingdom.
This partnership comes as part of the national efforts to enhance the local production of coffee beans which contributes to the growth of the local economy, achieving the objectives of Saudi’s Vision 2030, according to a press release by the Saudi Press Agency.
The partnership focuses on multiple axes that mainly aim to improve the abilities of local farmers through training them on the best agricultural practices that shall develop the quality of coffee crops and maximize the economic returns consequently.
Commenting on this, Abdulrahman Al Soqeer, General Director of Estidamah said: “This collaboration shall result in a huge leap in the Saudi Coffee industry by gathering the research experiences of the center and the marketing abilities of the Saudi Coffee Company together”.
The research team participating in this partnership is giving great attention to technological innovation integration as it is expected to feature using the “Nano” technologies and biostimulants to enhance the growth and productivity of coffee beans, contributing to the quality of the final product.
