
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia is set to host the 19th edition of the Internet Governance Forum from 15 to 19 December, gathering more than 1,000 expert speakers and specialists as well as digital economy leaders from more than 160 countries.
Held at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center (KAICC) with the theme of ‘Building our Multi-stakeholder Digital Future,’ IGF 2024 will serve as an open and inclusive platform for multi-stakeholder policy dialogue on internet-related challenges, with special focus on the complementarity between all stakeholders involved.
This five-day event, which is expected to welcome over 10,000 attendants, will cover four main themes: Harnessing innovation and balancing risks in the digital space; Enhancing the digital contribution to peace, development, and sustainability; Advancing human rights and inclusion in the digital age; and Improving digital governance for the Internet We Want.
Hosting this global event solidifies Saudi Arabia’s position as a regional hub for technology and innovation. Additionally, it underpins the Kingdom’s vision to drive global digital transformation and lead efforts to develop sustainable solutions and a robust, secure digital infrastructure.
Moreover, IGF 2024 will involve over 300 sessions and workshops to address key challenges and opportunities in the digital era.
