Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The fifth edition of the Saudi Maritime and Logistics Conference kicks off today in Dammam, gathering experts in the maritime transport and logistics sectors from various countries.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Saleh Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, and Rumaih AL-Rumaih, President of the Transport General Authority (TGA).
Around 60 speakers participate in this two-day event to share key insights, global experience, and valuable perspectives that contribute to forming strategic investment partnerships and exploring new pathways for growth and development in the maritime transport and logistics sectors locally and regionally.
The conference’s program involves discussion sessions and workshops that cover key topics, such as integrated logistics services, the future supply chain, and shipbuilding and repair.
During the opening ceremony, TGA signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Eastern Region Municipality to enhance coastal transport.
The first day of the event also witnessed the launch of the mobile monitoring room by Seal Company and the announcement of the winner of the SeaTrade Maritime Award.
The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) showcased the Port Community System (PCS) which offers more than 200 automated services through a unified digital platform designed according to the highest international standards.
Moreover, the conference features panel discussions on maritime transport digitization, maritime safety, energy transition for a sustainable future, and workforce development, as well as recommendations and proposals to enhance the maritime transport industry and sustain logistics services.
