Paymob partnered with Woo to revolutionize e-commerce in MENA region

Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Paymob, the leading financial services enabler in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, forged a strategic partnership with Woo, the open-source e-commerce platform, to revolutionize the e-commerce sector in the region.

Under this partnership, Paymob’s checkout experience is now embedded into the WooCommerce Marketplace, providing merchants with streamlined access to its comprehensive suite of digital payment solutions, the company announced in a press release today.

Paymob Checkout enables merchants to integrate over 50 global and local payment methods into their WooCommerce stores, including Apple Pay, Google Pay, and regional alternatives.

This partnership underscores Woo’s confidence in Paymob as a trusted partner to provide tailored payment solutions that meet the unique needs of regional merchants.

Additionally, Paymob will soon be seamlessly integrated into Woo’s onboarding experience, streamlining the setup process for new merchants. This integration will simplify store activation and enable users to start accepting payments quickly and efficiently.

Omar El Gammal, EVP of Global Business Development at Paymob, said: “Our partnership with WooCommerce is a major step forward in our mission to enable regional SMEs with transformative digital tools. By embedding Paymob into WooCommerce’s ecosystem, we are creating a future where e-commerce growth is seamless and accessible to all.”

Meanwhile, Karl Stjernstrom, VP of Global Alliances at Paymob, stated that the integration with Woo reflects the company’s focus on forging strategic alliances that drive innovation and unlock new growth opportunities for Paymob merchants in MENA and beyond.

In turn, Web Griebel, General Manager of Payments at Woo, commented: “We’re excited about strengthening our partnership with Paymob to offer merchants in MENA a streamlined solution that helps them securely scale their businesses.”

Paymob’s omnichannel gateway offers more than 50 payment solutions and empowers close to 390,000 merchants including local SMEs and regional and global brands.

Saudi Energy to deliver power infrastructure to Expo 2030 Riyadh site
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Energy signed a Power Supply and Implementation Agreement with Expo 2030 Riyadh Company, wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), to deliver the power infrastructure required across the Expo 2030 Riyadh site.The agreement was signed by Khalid AlGhamdi, Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Energy, and Talal Al-Marri, Chief Executive Officer of Expo 2030 Riyadh, according to the official statement,The deal aims to establish the electrical infrastructure required to meet the power demands of Expo 2030 Riyadh. This includes the construction of a bulk supply point, three primary substations, and all associated transmission and distribution infrastructure.Leading Saudi companies, including Alfanar, Haif Company, Trading and Development Partnership, and Al-Babtain Power & Telecom Company, will support the execution of these worksAlGhamdi highlighted that the agreement reflects the critical role of Saudi Energy in supporting major national projects by developing a reliable and highly efficient power infrastructure.He emphasized that Saudi Energy will deploy its capabilities and expertise to execute Expo 2030 Riyadh’s electric supply requirements to the highest standards of quality and operational performance, supporting the readiness of this global event and aligning with the Kingdom’s development goals.For his part, Al-Marri said: “The agreement marks another important milestone, reflecting the accelerated progress across the various workstreams underway on site and reinforcing its readiness in line with the established delivery schedule.”He noted that the partnership with leading Saudi national companies reflects confidence in local capabilities and expertise, and their ability to deliver projects of this scale and ambition in line with the highest technical and operational standards. Moreover, the agreement marks a significant step toward securing the critical utility requirements of Expo 2030 Riyadh and enabling the timely development and successful opening of the event.
