
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The second edition of the Makkah Halal Forum (MHF25) witnessed the signing of 19 agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) to develop AI-powered software that promote the Halal products industry.
The agreements included a SAR 80 million industrial contract between the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (Modon) and First Mills, a market-leading milling player in Saudi Arabia, Secretary General of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD), Yousef Khalawi, told Al Eqtisadiah newspaper.
Under this agreement, the company will establish a manufacturing facility over an area of 54,000 square meters in Jeddah Third Industrial City to localize food industries and enhance food security in the Kingdom.
Modon also signed an industrial contract to allocate land in Jeddah Third Industrial City for AZ Food. The company will invest SAR 154 million to build a 19,000-square-meter facility to localize food industries and enhance local content while supporting food security in Saudi Arabia.
MHF25 took place from 25 to 27 February 2025 and showcased the finest in Halal services and products from around the world, featuring workshops, keynote sessions, discussion panels, live halal cooking shows and demonstrations, as well as opportunities for partnerships and collaborations across multiple sectors.
This year, the event focused on innovation and creativity to promote sustainable development across the global Islamic community.
