
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: FlyNow Aviation, a leading producer and operator of electric cargo drones and air taxis, plans to launch its eCopter services, consisting of single, twin-seater, and cargo versions, in Saudi Arabia by the end of 2025, according to the company’s recent statement.
Yvonne Winter, Co-Founder and COO of FlyNow Aviation, revealed that the pilot project will be implemented in collaboration with the Saudi Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST).
“We are now in the middle of the series development of the cargo version. In two and a half years, we'll start the cargo operations, and then we'll have two years of cargo operations with approximately one million kilometers of flight,” Winter clarified.
After launching the cargo operations, FlyNow aims to start transporting people over populated areas, with plans to have a full air taxi operation in Riyadh by 2030, ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2034.
In 2024, the Salzburg-based company announced its plans to open a regional headquarters and establish an assembly line in Saudi Arabia to export to global markets.
