According to a recent press release, the initiative waives the need for a Memorandum of Association or signed lease contract during the first year, enabling companies to commence operations immediately and cutting the traditional start‑up timeline from weeks to 24 hours.
The license applies to all office‑based business activities that do not require external approvals and permits up to three employees per license. By simplifying incorporation requirements, SEDD hopes to deter unlicensed activity and reinforce Sharjah’s reputation as a pro‑business hub.
Hamad Ali Abdalla Al Mahmoud, Chairman of SEDD, said the service is part of a broader strategy to strengthen Sharjah’s legislative framework, support economic diversification, and elevate the emirate’s regional and global competitiveness. He added that the streamlined process reflects directives from
SEDD noted that firms must meet full licensing requirements from the second year onward, but expects the first‑year flexibility to accelerate new investment and job creation across strategic sectors.
