Six Saudi startups qualify for Entrepreneurship World Cup finals

Six Saudi startups were qualified for the Entrepreneurship World Cup finals, which will be held during Biban 2025

Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Six Saudi startups were qualified for the Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC) 2025 finals, which will be held during Biban 2025, a premier event for entrepreneurs that will take place in Riyadh from 5 to 8 November.

According to a recent official statement, the startups are: SARsatX, a space technology startup specializing in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR); Expanse Cosmos, a provider of in-space transportation and logistics services; ADADK, a startup specializing in air, water, and waste management; iRAMA, an agritech startup specializing in modern technologies for biodynamic agriculture; Thrivve, a mobility-fintech platform redefining vehicle access and ownership for gig workers; and EcoPallets, a startup specializing in palm fronds recycling.

Top 100 projects representing 47 countries were selected for the finals among over 10,300 applicants from more than 169 countries after multiple evaluation phases and a virtual training camp. Participants will compete for cash prizes exceeding $1.5 million in an event that gathers entrepreneurs, investors, and international experts.

Organized by the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monsha’at), Biban 2025 will host the EWC finals, offering global entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch their ideas to investors and venture capital funds, and benefit from training, mentorship, and communication programs to enhance their competitiveness.

As Saudi Arabia’s first fabless semiconductor company, Epic Semi aims to position the Kingdom as a hub for AI, cloud computing, and edge technologies.The EPIC portfolio covers four key areas: EPIC Echelon for edge AI, EPIC Pegasus for robotics and computer vision, EPIC Ionos for IoT connectivity, and EPIC Contrail for cloud AI infrastructure. Under EPIC Contrail, the company launched new flagship products, including Contrail Flash PCIe Gen5 SSDs for AI workloads, Contrail Compute — a CPU and AI superchip designed for large language models — and Contrail Cool, a liquid cooling system for data centers.Naveed Sherwani, CEO, said the launch marks a major step toward building a sovereign and competitive semiconductor ecosystem in Saudi Arabia, enabling AI from the cloud to the edge.Aligned with Vision 2030, Epic Semi plans to work with the National Semiconductor Hub to support local manufacturing, strengthen technological independence, and create thousands of high-skilled jobs. The company says its efforts, supported by megaprojects like NEOM, will help position Saudi Arabia as a regional leader in advanced chip design and innovation.
