
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The point-of-sale (PoS) market in Saudi Arabia is undergoing significant and rapid growth, driven by a strong and increasing shift towards digital and card-based payments.
During the third quarter (Q3) of 2025, the PoS sales surpassed SAR 179.6 billion, up from SAR 165.7 billion in Q2-25, according to recent figures by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).
SAMA’s monthly bulletin showed that the number of PoS transactions reached 2.97 billion in Q3-25, while the number of PoS terminals exceeded 2.2 million.
In the same quarter, the food and beverages (F&B) sector accounted for the largest share, with sales amounting to over SAR 26 billion, followed by the restaurants and cafés sector, which achieved sales worth SAR 21.6 billion.
In September, the number of PoS transactions recorded 986 million, generating sales worth more than SAR 58 billion.
Moreover, e-commerce sales made using Mada cards totaled 465.4 million transactions in Q3-25, with sales surpassing SAR 88 billion.
