Falak Holing acquires Kernel for AI to expand technical capabilities

Falak Holing acquired a majority stake in Kernel for AI to expand its technical capabilities and strengthen its presence in advanced technology sectors

Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Falak Holding, a leading investment and innovation platform, announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Kernel, a company specializing in developing AI solutions and applications, as part of its broader strategy to expand its technical capabilities and strengthen its presence in advanced technology sectors.

Through this acquisition, which includes Kernel’s operations in Saudi Arabia and Jordan, Falak will integrate Kernel’s technical expertise with its broader venture-building ecosystem, creating new opportunities to support AI-powered startups, develop innovative products, and enable organizations to adopt artificial intelligence effectively, the company announced in a statement today.

Kernel develops AI products, delivers specialized training programs, and operates initiatives such as AI Startup Lab, which focuses on building real AI solutions and supporting teams in turning advanced technical ideas into scalable products.

Commenting on the acquisition, Adwa Aldakheel, Founder and CEO of Falak, said: “By bringing Kernel into Falak’s ecosystem, we aim to accelerate the development of AI-powered ventures and support the next generation of technology-driven companies.”

In turn, Abdullah Alghwairi, Founder of Kernel, affirmed that becoming part of Falak’s ecosystem opens new opportunities for growth and collaboration as the company continues developing impactful AI technologies across the region.

The AI company will continue to operate independently within Falak’s ecosystem as a Falak Holding company, maintaining its operational focus while benefiting from Falak’s investment network and entrepreneurial platform.

Lucid secures $750mn investment from PIF’s Ayar Third Investment, Uber
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Lucid, the global manufacturer of the world's most advanced software-defined vehicles and technologies, secured investments totaling $750 million from Ayar Third Investment Company, an affiliate of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), and Uber.As part of the agreement, the PIF’s company committed a new investment of $550 million, further strengthening the strategic partnership between the PIF and Lucid, the vehicle maker announced in a press release today.Additionally, Uber committed an additional $200 million investment in Lucid, bringing its total investments to $500 million to date. It also increased its purchase commitment to at least 35,000 Lucid vehicles designed exclusively for use as part of Uber's future global robotaxi service.Together, these investments enhance Lucid's capital position as it advances its best-in-class software-defined vehicles and diversified enterprise platform strategy.Marc Winterhoff, Interim CEO at Lucid, said: “Today's announcement demonstrates the growing strength of our relationship with Uber, our continued partnership with the PIF, and the benefits our software-defined EV platforms bring to next-generation mobility networks. Building on the rapid progress of our collaboration with Lucid Gravity, our Midsize platform will enable autonomous mobility at scale through cost efficiency, manufacturing simplicity, and a technology-forward user experience.As outlined during Lucid Investor Day, Lucid's future Midsize vehicles are expected to offer a similar range to competitors while using smaller battery packs, and at the same time delivering best-in-class interior space and comfort, as well as superior charging speed.
