Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia is set to expand the use of artificial intelligence across its cultural sector after the Ministry of Culture, the Cultural Development Fund, and the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) signed a memorandum of understanding to develop AI-powered initiatives for creators and cultural enterprises.

As reported by Asharq Al Awsat, the agreement aims to explore joint programs that enhance innovation, improve the efficiency of cultural institutions, and support Saudi artists in reaching wider local and international audiences. It also aligns with the Kingdom's broader efforts to accelerate AI adoption ahead of its planned designation of 2026 as the Year of Artificial Intelligence.

Raed bin Khalil Al Eid, cultural innovation adviser and founder of the Cultural Management Platform, said AI has become an enabling technology across all 16 cultural sectors recognized in Saudi Arabia, including heritage, museums, literature, music, film, architecture, fashion, and culinary arts.

He said the priority now is to translate the agreement into practical projects supported by clear policies and governance frameworks covering intellectual property, data, and ethics, enabling public and private organizations to confidently develop AI-driven cultural solutions.
