
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia's point-of-sale (PoS) activity continues to reflect the Kingdom's rapid shift toward a digital, cashless economy, with electronic payments now firmly embedded in everyday consumer life.
According to the latest report by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA), PoS sales in the Kingdom reached SAR 65.6 billion in August, up from SAR 62.8 billion in the previous month, across 1.1 billion transactions.
The food and beverages (F&B) sector accounted for the largest share of PoS sales, at SAR 10.2 billion across 257 million transactions. The restaurants and cafés sector ranked second, with SAR 7.9 billion in sales across 263.8 million transactions.
Moreover, the number of e-commerce transactions made via Mada cards reached 196 million in August, recording SAR 36.9 billion in sales.
