Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The value of the cloud computing market in the world soared from $10 billion to exceed $500 billion, the Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha unveiled during the Global AI Summit.
In a panel session, Alswaha stated that artificial intelligence (AI) faces three fundamental challenges: hardware and energy efficiency, memory, and models which may lead to a lot of challenges such as misinformation, hallucination, and bias.
The minister also clarified that the investment thesis in the Kingdom, in collaboration with local, global, and regional innovators, focuses on how to shift from the peak of inflated expectations to achieve productivity and prosperity for people and the planet.
Furthermore, Alswaha unveiled that Saudi Arabia achieved the highest women empowerment in tech and AI in the world with 35%.
The third edition of the Global AI Summit takes place in Riyadh from 10 to 12 September, with the participation of global figures, economic policymakers, and artificial intelligence (AI) specialists from 100 countries.
It aims to tackle challenges in AI development and address several issues such as human capacities, technical infrastructure, ethics, bias and fairness, national security, information security, and the economic and social impacts of AI.
