Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) collaborated with the AI chipmaking giant Nvidia to enhance its AI infrastructure to remain at the forefront of global technology trends and drive a new era of AI-powered transformation in Saudi Arabia.
This announcement was made by Esam Alwagait, Director of the National Information Center at SDAIA, during the Global Ai Summit.
Under this collaboration, SDAIA will integrate Nvidia’s leading-edge technologies to reach more than 5,000 graphics processing units (GPUs), opening new horizons for digital innovation and infrastructure in the Kingdom.
SDAIA and Nvidia also plan to create one of the largest high-performance data centers in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region by upgrading the existing infrastructure of SDAIA’s NVIDIA DGX Super Pod computer.
Further, this collaboration will enable Allam, SDAIA’s Arabic large language model (LLM), to benefit from Nvidia’s NeMo platform within Nvidia AI software to train language models and make them available to users at scale, while harnessing protection barriers to ensure the safety of the systems.
This cooperation will empower developers to build and deploy AI applications more easily through the Allam model for the Arabic language, enhance the effectiveness of the model, and increase its capabilities.
The third edition of the Global AI Summit takes place in Riyadh from 10 to 12 September, gathering global figures, economic policymakers, and artificial intelligence (AI) specialists from 100 countries.
It aims to tackle challenges in AI development and address several issues such as human capacities, technical infrastructure, ethics, bias and fairness, national security, information security, and the economic and social impacts of AI.
