Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s trade industry achieved significant growth in the fourth quarter of 2024, recording 160,539 commercial registrations—a 67% increase compared to the same period in 2023, according to official data from the Ministry of Commerce.

The ministry’s quarterly business sector bulletin revealed that 95,863 permits were issued during Q4 2023. Riyadh, Makkah, and the Eastern Province led the surge in registrations, with Riyadh accounting for 62,906 permits, Makkah issuing 27,700, and the Eastern Province registering 25,682. Together, these three regions represented 72% of the Kingdom’s total commercial permits for the quarter.

Women’s participation in the business sector also made notable strides, with 46% of legal certificates issued during this period belonging to women, reflecting a continued push toward gender inclusivity in trade and commerce.

This rapid growth underscores Saudi Arabia’s ongoing progress in fostering a dynamic and diversified trade environment, aligning with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals. The increase in licenses highlights the flourishing opportunities within the local trade sector while reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s appeal as an attractive destination for foreign investors.

The results demonstrate the nation’s commitment to economic diversification and development, paving the way for distinctive partnerships and innovative ventures in the years to come.
