Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: A high-profile Saudi delegation, comprising senior government officials and prominent business leaders, arrived in China for an official visit from 24 to 29 August to strengthen the strategic economic partnership between the two countries.
Led by the Minister of Investment Khalid Al Falih, the delegation organized a workshop in Shanghai to explore integrated value chains, sectoral investment opportunities, and strategic partnerships, in the presence of over 60 leading Saudi and Chinese companies, the ministry revealed in a recent statement.
The ministry also held a food and agriculture workshop to discuss the food value chain and investor support, gathering representatives from the Saudi public and private sectors alongside officials from more than 60 Chinese companies.
Further, the visit will feature field visits to major industrial facilities in key Chinese cities. In Shanghai, discussions will focus on industrial and petrochemical value chains, while in Beijing, the emphasis will be on financial partnerships and cooperation with state-owned enterprises.
It is worth mentioning that Chinese foreign direct investment (FDI) in Saudi Arabia surged from SAR 24.1 billion in 2023 to SAR 31.1 billion in 2024, up 28.8%. Additionally, investment inflows rose from SAR3.2 billion to SAR8.6 billion in the same period, marking a 163.9% increase.
