Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: HUMAIN, the Public Investment Fund–backed AI company, is set to play a leading role in a newly announced joint venture with AMD and Cisco aimed at accelerating Saudi Arabia’s emergence as a global hub for advanced AI infrastructure.

The three companies will serve as founding investors in the venture, which is scheduled to begin operations in 2026, as per a recent press release.

The plan is to pair HUMAIN’s next-generation data centers with AMD’s high-performance GPUs and Cisco’s critical networking technologies, creating modern, energy-efficient AI infrastructure. The partners aim to deliver up to 1 GW of AI capacity by 2030, starting with a 100 MW buildout in the first phase.

The announcement builds on the strategic partnership revealed earlier this year between HUMAIN, AMD, and Cisco to develop what they described as the world’s most open and cost-efficient AI infrastructure. The new joint venture is expected to accelerate this effort, offering large-scale compute power for regional and global customers.

Tareq Amin, HUMAIN CEO, said the collaboration brings world-class expertise to the company’s mission of pushing the frontier of AI compute. He noted that the expansion to 1 GW of infrastructure in the Kingdom will empower innovators at home and abroad.

Lisa Su, AMD Chair and CEO, highlighted the importance of strong partnerships in delivering global AI capacity at scale, adding that AMD will establish a Center of Excellence in Saudi Arabia to support local integration and innovation. Chuck Robbins, Cisco Chair and CEO, said the partnership marks an important step in enabling the Kingdom’s ambitions for an AI-powered economy.

The companies pointed to recent findings from Cisco’s AI Readiness Index, which shows that although 91% of Saudi organizations expect to adopt AI agents, only 29% currently have sufficient GPU capacity. The new collaboration aims to help close that gap and strengthen the digital foundations needed for Saudi Arabia’s AI-driven future.
