Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia highlighted a year of major achievements across technology, digital governance, science, and innovation, according to newly released national indicators by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology reflecting progress under Vision 2030.

The Kingdom ranked first globally in the Telecommunications and Technology Development Index and second worldwide in both digital government maturity and digital regulatory maturity. These rankings underscore Saudi Arabia’s growing leadership in digital transformation and regulatory advancement.

In science, Professor Omar Yaghi became the first Saudi to win a Nobel Prize, receiving the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his work in applying artificial intelligence to scientific development.

Economically, the ICT sector continued to expand, employing more than 406,000 people and reaching a market value of SAR 190 billion. Venture capital investments exceeded SAR 5.5 billion by early December 2025, while the number of Saudi tech unicorns rose to eight.

Saudi Arabia also strengthened its international partnerships by signing a strategic agreement with the United States in the field of artificial intelligence, reinforcing its ambition to become a global hub for advanced technologies.

Collectively, the milestones reflect Saudi Arabia’s accelerating momentum in technology, innovation, and knowledge-driven growth.
