Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: China's Technology giant Huawei launched the HUAWEI ICT One Stop Training Center in Saudi Arabia, designed to upskill the local workforce and develop the talent pool.

The launching ceremony was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), the Ministry of Investment (MISA), and the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority (LCGPA), the company announced in a recent statement.

The new center targets advancing Huawei’s engineering services across the Kingdom by delivering cutting-edge, hands-on technical training for Huawei employees and partners, ensuring the highest delivery standards across over 20,000 sites Huawei delivers annually in Saudi Arabia.

Training will cover various domains, including Telecommunications Engineering (TE), In-Building Solutions (IBS), Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM), and Civil Work (CW).

Once fully operational, the center is expected to train more than 600 professional teams annually, strengthening Huawei’s engineering capabilities at scale.

Commenting on this milestone, Mohammed Al-Qahtani, Executive Vice President of Partnerships and Capabilities Building at LCGPA, stated that the launch of the new training center represents a significant move forward in the authority’s mission to build a robust digital ecosystem in the Kingdom. “By partnering with global technology leaders like Huawei, we are not only localizing technical expertise but also ensuring that our national workforce is equipped with the hands-on skills required to lead the digital economy.”

In turn, Liam Zhao, Chairman of Huawei Saudi Arabia, commented: “This center reflects Huawei’s long-standing commitment to being ‘In Saudi, For Saudi’. By investing in advanced training, local talent, and engineering excellence, we are building a quality engine that supports the Kingdom’s digital ambitions and strengthens the foundations of its future infrastructure.”

The center will serve as a bridge to academic learning and real-world engineering readiness for young Saudi talent, providing practice-based training that enables graduates to transition confidently into operational engineering roles.

At the center, Huawei experts will take talent through diverse simulated real-life scenarios and provide opportunities for both theoretical and practical, hands-on training. This approach directly supports Huawei’s large-scale operations in Saudi Arabia, further enhancing site delivery quality, operational consistency, and overall engineering excellence.
