Riyadh - Exclusive Sharikat Mubasher: The global fintech company Checkout.com processed more than 13 million cards to complete digital payments in Saudi Arabia, General Manager Abdullah Alassaf told Sharikat Mubasher.
In an interview held on the sidelines of Seamless Saudi Arabia 2024, Alassaf affirmed that the Kingdom is one of the most promising and fastest-growing markets in the region.
According to the latest studies by Checkout.com, e-commerce, cross-border trade, and e-payments in the Kingdom witnessed significant growth, triggered by the country's efforts to enable payments and enhance security measures to prevent fraud and other risks related to digital payments, Alassaf noted.
He further clarified that a recent survey by the company showed that more than 50% of consumers intend to spend more on online purchases.
Alassaf stated that Checkout.com is a global payment company that aims to enable merchants to receive e-payments via websites and applications.
Headquartered in London, Checkout.com provides a cloud-based platform to process payments, send payouts, and manage card programs. It has offices in Riyadh, Dubai, Paris, and other locations across six countries.
Seamless Saudi Arabia 2024 took place in Riyadh from 22 to 24 October, bringing together industry leaders, decision-makers, SMEs, startups, and government representatives from around the world.
It provided in-depth discussions covering a wide range of subjects, from digital banking to the integration of technology in retail environments.
