Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi electric vehicle (EV) charging technology company Energic is looking to grow its market share both locally and internationally, according to Chairman Saud Alshuraym.
Speaking to Asharq Business at GITEX Africa in Morocco, Alshuraym said the company is tapping into the global shift toward EVs and has already entered the ‘ٍ market, connecting over 80,000 chargers through strategic partnerships.
In Saudi Arabia, Energic plans wider expansion, supported by the fact that all its products are fully developed within the Kingdom. A major challenge for the local EV sector remains the limited number of charging stations, despite growing efforts to reduce emissions and boost adoption.
Industry leaders expect EVs to represent 35% to 40% of new car sales in Saudi Arabia by 2030. To support this, the Kingdom launched EVIQ in 2023, a joint venture between the Public Investment Fund and Saudi Electricity Company, to build a national fast-charging network.
Energic provides both hardware and software for EV charging, with a strong focus on software solutions, according to Alshuraym.
