
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The total value of points-of-sale (PoS) sales in Saudi Arabia surpassed SAR 165.7 billion during the second quarter (Q2) of 2025, backed by a slight increase in PoS transactions, which reached over 2.7 billion.
According to the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) monthly bulletin, the number of PoS terminals across the Kingdom saw a modest rise to hit 2.1 million in Q2-25 from 2.08 million in the previous quarter.
In June, the number of PoS transactions registered 919.3 million, generating sales estimated at SAR 53.9 billion.
The food and beverages (F&B) sector secured the largest share of PoS sales in Q2-25 at SAR 24.4 billion, made across 645 million transactions, followed by the restaurants and cafés sector, which achieved sales valued at over SAR 20 billion.
Moreover, the number of e-commerce transactions made through Mada cards registered 420 million in Q2-25, with sales amounting to SAR 76.6 billion.
