Aramco is set to open a new office in Paris to deepen its global footprint and expand investment in AI

Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Aramco, one of the world’s leading integrated energy and chemicals companies, plans to open a new office in Paris to strengthen its global footprint, according to Executive Vice President of Technology and Innovation Ahmad Al-Khowaiter.

Speaking at the Adopt AI Grand Palais international summit in Paris, Al-Khowaiter emphasized the pivotal role of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions in enhancing energy supply and the importance of energy for powering AI data centers.

He noted that data centers consumed nearly 415 terawatt-hours of electricity in 2025, and this number is expected to double by 2030. "We operate one of the most powerful supercomputers in the Middle East and have access to over 90 years of data,” he added.

Al-Khowaiter further highlighted Aramco’s partnership with Pasqal to install Saudi Arabia’s first quantum computer for industrial applications in Dhahran. This collaboration is expected to advance quantum computing expertise in the Middle East and accelerate its applications in energy and materials.

Adopt AI Grand Palais took place in Paris on 25 and 26 November, bringing together global CEOs and C-level executives to engage with industry leaders from CAC40 corporations, dynamic startups, unicorns, and tech partners.
