Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Lucid, the global manufacturer of luxury electric vehicles (EVs), plans to start manufacturing cars in Saudi Arabia by the end of 2026, according to Interim Chief Executive Officer Marc Winterhoff.
The EV maker plans to move from assembly to full-scale vehicle manufacturing at a new facility near Jeddah, contributing to driving the Kingdom’s ambitions to create a domestic auto manufacturing hub and cut down on imports, Winterhoff stated in an interview with Bloomberg on the sidelines of the Future Minerals Forum 2026.
He stated that the company has already started moving in equipment, adding that the output would ramp up gradually in 2027 and 2028 before the plant reaches its full capacity of 150,000 vehicles in 2029.
