Dubai – Sharikat Mubasher: The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) announced a partnership with TerraPay, a global digital money movement company, to expand its international payout capabilities and improve cross-border payment services.
Under the agreement, NBB will leverage TerraPay’s global payment infrastructure to connect customers to more than 12 billion bank accounts, digital wallets, and local payment systems worldwide, according to a recent press release.
The partnership will use TerraPay’s connectivity with the SWIFT messaging network to facilitate international transfers through existing banking infrastructure, reducing the need for separate integrations across markets and payment providers.
The collaboration aims to streamline cross-border transactions, expand payment destinations, and provide customers with greater transparency, including transfers without deductions from the principal amount.
Commenting on this, Vineet Munot, Group Head of Transaction Banking at NBB, said the partnership would strengthen the bank’s international payments offering and help meet customers’ growing cross-border transaction needs.
Meanwhile, Ani Sane, Co-Founder and Chief Business Officer at TerraPay, said the collaboration would enable NBB to expand its global payment reach while retaining control of customer relationships and core banking infrastructure.
