Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Zain KSA launched the fourth edition of its 'Women in Tech' (WIT) program, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, and global technology leaders Huawei and Nokia.
This edition of WIT highlights Zain KSA’s ongoing commitment to advancing inclusion, a fundamental aspect of its corporate sustainability strategy, according to Zain KSA’s press release.
By aligning public and private sector efforts, fostering global partnerships, and promoting the role of Saudi women in national development, the program demonstrates Zain’s dedication to building a more diverse and inclusive society.
Supported by the MCIT, the WIT program is a multi-stakeholder initiative focused on increasing women’s participation in the ICT sector and closing the gender gap. Since its inception, female representation in the industry has risen dramatically from 7% in 2018 to 35% in 2024, a significant achievement towards the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which envisions a robust digital future.
The fourth edition of WIT is in partnership with Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University and provides specialized training and capacity-building programs for over 150 STEM students.
The program combines advanced technical training from Huawei and Nokia with practical, hands-on experience in the latest technologies. It aims to ease the transition from academic life to the workforce, enhancing students' technical expertise while connecting them with industry leaders and creating opportunities in tech innovation and entrepreneurship.
Since its launch in 2021, Zain KSA’s WIT program has empowered 260 women, further contributing to the growth of Saudi Arabia's ICT industry.
