Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s e-commerce sector has witnessed rapid growth in recent years, driven by increasing digital adoption and government efforts to streamline business registrations. With more entrepreneurs and investors entering the online marketplace, the Kingdom continues to enhance its regulatory framework to support digital businesses.

During the first quarter (Q1) of 2025, the number of existing e-commerce registrations reached 41,322, marking a 6% increase compared to 38,850 registrations in Q1-24, recent figures by the Ministry of Commerce unveiled.

The Riyadh province acquired the largest share with 17,092 registrations, followed by Makkah province (10,412 registrations), Eastern province (6,534 registrations), Madinah province (1,939 registrations), and Al Qassim province (1,342 registrations).

This increase reflects the pivotal role of the e-commerce sector in realizing Vision 2030’s objectives and enhancing the national economy.

It is worth mentioning that the total number of existing commercial registrations in the Kingdom exceeded 1.68 million in Q1-25, with female-owned organizations accounting for 47% of the total number.
