Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Abdul Latif Jameel and Uber signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore building a scalable, next-generation fleet operations platform in Saudi Arabia, with a strong focus on autonomous vehicles (AVs).

The agreement was signed during the Saudi-U.S. Investment Forum in the presence of Transport Minister Saleh Al-Jasser and the Acting President of the Transport General Authority, as per a recent press release.

The partnership aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to transform urban mobility, create 30,000 earning opportunities for Saudi nationals, and support economic diversification. Uber will contribute its global expertise in electric, shared, and autonomous transport, while Abdul Latif Jameel brings deep local operational experience.

Both parties highlighted the strategic importance of Saudi Arabia as a key hub for AV deployment. By integrating AVs into fleet operations and enhancing the mobility ecosystem, the collaboration seeks to elevate transportation across the Kingdom and potentially set a global model for future mobility.

Executives from both companies—Hassan Jameel of Abdul Latif Jameel and Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi—underscored the initiative’s role in creating jobs, empowering Saudi youth, and enabling a smarter, tech-driven mobility landscape in line with the Kingdom’s long-term vision.
