Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Riyadh Valley Company, the investment arm of King Saud University, announced an investment in Abies Ventures Fund II, a Tokyo-based fund specializing in deep technology.

Founded in 2017, Abies Ventures backs startups in fields such as robotics, advanced materials, communications, and processing technologies.

Khalid Al-Saleh, CEO of Riyadh Valley Company, said in an official press release that the investment aligns with the firm’s strategy to support the knowledge economy and build a balanced portfolio.

Al-Saleh highlighted Japan’s venture capital market as one of the world’s top three and noted the strong government and private-sector support driving its growth.

The move supports King Saud University’s objectives and contributes to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 by fostering innovation and strengthening global partnerships in science and engineering.
