Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Julia Palle, Vice President of Sustainability at Formula E, described the partnership with Saudi Arabia and its Public Investment Fund (PIF) as a model for redefining the future of sustainable transport and energy, aligning closely with Saudi Vision 2030.
Speaking to Asharq Al-Awsat, Palle noted the collaboration is built on a shared ambition to drive change, citing early milestones like launching an all-female test in the Kingdom soon after women were allowed to drive.
Palle underscored the role of Saudi-backed initiatives such as Driving Force, which has reached over 50,000 students with programs on sustainability and green skills. Another program, Change. Accelerated. Live, showcases how PIF supports inclusive, sustainable futures through sport.
She also pointed to cutting-edge projects like ‘The PitHouse’ in Jeddah, designed to spotlight ultra-fast charging infrastructure and encourage consumer EV adoption.
Addressing comparisons with Formula 1, Palle clarified Formula E isn’t a replacement but a complementary, future-focused alternative aimed at younger, sustainability-conscious audiences.
