New AI camps and programs in Riyadh aim to build national tech talent as over 1,500 join recent AI hackathon

Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s Tuwaiq Academy declared 2026 the Year of Artificial Intelligence, unveiling a series of training camps and programs focused on AI and advanced technologies aimed at strengthening national digital capabilities.

The initiatives will take place at the academy’s headquarters in Riyadh starting in April. Registration for the programs has already opened through the academy’s website. The camps target students, graduates, and professionals, offering hands-on training designed to equip participants with practical skills in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.

According to the academy, the programs follow a project-based learning approach built around challenges and real-world applications. Participants will work on developing intelligent agents and AI models as part of practical exercises designed to nurture national talent and accelerate the development of technical expertise in the Kingdom.

As part of its broader AI push, the academy also recently concluded the Tuwaiq Artificial Intelligence Hackathon, which was held at its headquarters on 8 March. The event adopted the Vibe Coding methodology and attracted more than 1,500 participants.

During the hackathon, participants developed over 350 innovative projects using the latest AI platforms and technologies, highlighting growing interest in artificial intelligence among Saudi developers and technology enthusiasts.
