Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi energy giant Aramco announced it has partnered with French quantum computing company Pasqal to launch Saudi Arabia’s first quantum computer and the Middle East’s first commercial Quantum Computing as a Service (QCaaS) platform.

The new platform, inaugurated at Aramco’s data center in Dhahran, enables remote cloud-based access to quantum computing capabilities for enterprises, universities, and research institutions across the region and beyond, as per a recent press release. The system is powered by Pasqal’s neutral-atom quantum technology and features a 200-qubit Quantum Processing Unit (QPU).

The companies said the launch marks a major milestone for Saudi Arabia’s technology ecosystem and supports the Kingdom’s ambitions to advance deep-tech innovation under Vision 2030. The QCaaS platform is designed to help tackle complex industrial challenges across sectors, including energy, materials, logistics, and artificial intelligence.

Ahmad O. Al Khowaiter, Aramco Executive Vice President of Technology & Innovation, said the initiative reflects Saudi Arabia’s growing investment in quantum research, engineering talent, and next-generation energy solutions. Meanwhile, Wasiq Bokhari, CEO of Pasqal, noted that the deployment demonstrates how quantum computing is beginning to address real-world industrial operations at scale.
