
Dubai – Sharikat Mubasher: OSN Streaming Ltd., a subsidiary of OSN Group, secured a strategic minority investment from Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), reinforcing OSN’s position as a leading player in the MENA streaming market.
According to a recent press release, the transaction, set to be completed in stages pending regulatory approvals, marks a significant step in OSN’s growth strategy.
The investment follows OSN’s recent milestones, including its exclusive partnership with HBO in 2022 and its majority acquisition of Anghami Inc. in April 2024. These moves have positioned OSN as a key entertainment provider in the region.
Sheikha Dana Naser Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah, CEO of KIPCO and Chairperson of OSN, said the partnership reflects the success of KIPCO’s strategy to strengthen OSN’s streaming business. She emphasized that WBD’s involvement affirms OSN’s role as a top destination for entertainment in MENA.
Joe Kawkabani, OSN CEO described the investment as a pivotal moment, enhancing OSN’s ability to deliver compelling content while boosting its investment in locally produced content for audiences both within and beyond the region.
Meanwhile, Jamie Cooke, WBD’s Executive Vice President, praised OSN as a strong partner and highlighted plans to expand the platform’s offering with regional stories alongside global hits.
The investment builds on OSN’s growth trajectory, cementing its status as a major force in MENA’s entertainment landscape.
